Our Programs

Programs that grow with the person.

Every individual we serve receives an individualized support plan — but they all begin with the same thing: a real conversation about who they are, what they love, and what they want their week to look like.

Welcoming shared living space
Residential

24/7 Supported Living

Our flagship program: full-time residential care in small, family-style homes. Each resident has a private bedroom, shared common spaces, three home-cooked meals a day, and around-the-clock awake staff trained in person-centered support and emergency response.

We support a wide range of needs — from individuals who require minimal supervision to those needing significant daily-living and medical assistance.

Art therapy session
Day Program

Creative Arts & Expression

A daily studio practice for residents and community members: painting, ceramics, music, movement, and storytelling. The work is not "art therapy" in the clinical sense — it's authorship. Pieces are displayed at local galleries, gifted to families, and sold to support the program.

Art is a language we honor — especially for residents who communicate best beyond words.

Life Skills

Independence Coaching

Hands-on, real-world coaching across the skills that make adulthood feel possible: cooking, laundry, budgeting, phone use, public transit, social navigation, and self-advocacy. Each goal is tracked, celebrated, and revisited as the resident grows.

We don't teach to a test. We teach to a Tuesday morning.

Vocational

Supported Employment Pathways

Partnerships with local businesses in Adelanto and the High Desert open the door to real, paid work for residents who want it — from horticulture and retail to office support and food service. We job-coach on site, advocate with employers, and celebrate every paycheck.

Family

Family Partnership Program

Monthly family nights, quarterly care-plan reviews, transparent reporting, and a dedicated liaison for every resident's loved ones. We believe families are co-experts on the people we serve, and we treat them that way.

How We Work

The Mercy Meadows care model, step by step.

01 · Intake

We meet the prospective resident and their family in person — at home if possible. We listen, observe, and ask the unhurried questions that surface true preferences and needs.

02 · Individual Support Plan

Together with the family, we co-author a written plan covering daily routines, communication style, medical needs, social goals, dietary preferences, faith practice, and personal milestones.

03 · Gentle Transition

Moving in is paced, not rushed. Day visits, overnight stays, and personal-item moves happen on the resident's timeline — never the calendar's.

04 · Daily Life, Together

Routines, meals, outings, work, art, rest. The plan lives in the day — adjusted week to week as we learn more and the resident grows.

05 · Continuous Review

Quarterly care-plan reviews with the family, ongoing health coordination, and an open-door policy for questions, concerns, and celebrations.

FAQ

Common questions from families

Who is eligible for Mercy Meadows programs?

We serve adults (age 18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We accept a broad range of support levels and work with families and regional centers to determine the right fit.

How are programs funded?

A combination of regional center contracts, Medi-Cal waivers where applicable, private pay, and charitable donations. We help families navigate funding options during intake.

Can residents keep their own doctors, faith community, and family routines?

Absolutely. Continuity of relationships is central to our model. We coordinate transportation, scheduling, and advocacy so existing connections continue uninterrupted.

How do you handle medical emergencies?

All direct-care staff are CPR/First-Aid certified. Each home has detailed emergency protocols, on-call clinical support, and immediate communication channels to families.

Are visits allowed?

Families and chosen support persons are welcome. We encourage regular visits, family meals, weekend trips home, and video calls — anything that keeps relationships strong.
